Anyways, what would your ideal Sunday morning be like ? Ever since I started joining the rat race, I’ve worked on weekends all along, up until a few months ago (ok maybe a year) that I didin’t have to work on Sundays, but still a 6 days work/week. Sundays come in very rare and precious for me and I’m always jealous of those who have BOTH weekends to spend time with.
Then, with my current job, I have both Saturdays and Sundays off! bloody brilliant!
You have no idea how good it is to have 2 days off per week. Its like you can spend the whole of Saturday catching back on your sleep, then plan your activities on Sundays, instead of trying to squeeze everything in one day.
So, how is your Sunday like ? Do you sleep in or wake up early and drive out for a good brunch or dim sum? These days, I send my dog for obedience training on Sunday. It starts at 8.30am, which actually means I’d have to wake up at about 7.15am and prepare (since I’d have to drive 30 minutes to the training ground) It REALLY is earlier than my working hours but I’m loving it. It means I’ll sleep earlier on Saturday, which means I don’t have to screw up my entire weekday sleeping routine and feel all dodgy on Monday.
What happened last last Sunday was, I wanted to bring my dog for a grooming session since she’s 16 months already and has never been to one. I thought of sending her after her training session. Really, a dog grooming session wouldn’t just be 30 minutes. I sent her at 10am and the owner of the shop told me to come back at 3.30pm. Mind you, I’m the first customer of the day! I told her I can’t wait that long as I have a birthday party to attend and a cake to finish before 6pm. Still, earliest is 2.30pm. *stress* I can go for a hair colour and treatment session already!*
I’ve finished with my breakfast meal and halfway through the coffee and it’s ONLY 11.30am. 3 more hours to go.
Back to Cafe Barbera. Since the grooming place is at Bangsar, I needed to find one hangout place, preferably with fantastic brunch / breakfast meals and good coffee to go along. Started to ask on twitter, had quite a few recommendations thanks to @j_chocoholic and @jennihsurf, after a few rounds of @, I decided on this place. I’m looking for something like Kith, or Epicurious in SG or bills in Sydney , if you know of any, please let me know. (Please, reasonably priced and dog friendly too) Cafe Barbera is almost there, except that, there’s no customers here. Ok, maybe three since I’ve been here.
WHY am I talking so much.
Cause it’s Sunday and I’ve got time to spare. And I shall bore you with my nonsensical stories. Obviously when u’re reading this, it’s a Monday already LOL
Cappuccino Italiano . Espresso with hot milk and foam. RM 9.00 (but inc with the breakfast meal) LOVE the foam. tiny and micro bubbles yet compact and thick. I’ve went through a barista course a few years ago during my times in Le Cordon Bleu. It is not easy to brew a perfect cup of coffee. And especially if you want to get the layers right for Latte, or the right amount and texture of foam when you steam the milk while keeping it the right temperature. I can assuredly tell you, most of the baristas here don’t do their job properly. Ok right, I can go on and on and on but I’ll stop here with that.
Breakfast meal RM 25.00 (food + coffee) . Eggs on toast, garlic mushrooms, grilled tomato, ham and chicken sausages
with baked beans. Nope, I asked for without the baked beans. Caramelized onions would complete it but no, too much garlic for the mushroom. I think imma smell like garlic all day long and have full on protection on ticks if my dogs ate it lol! 🙁 Not too satisfied with the breakfast meal here, I’m sure I can do a better job than that, but the coffee is highly recommended.
2.5 hours to go. I think I’ll just read my book now. (Or maybe go to BSC)
PS: The pizza smells amazingggg..
