365 Challenge – Bacon & Comte Kebabs

3rd post of the 365 Challenge. First was Mussels in Sauce poulette, and saute green asparagus. I have to say, most dishes in the book are fairly simple except for some that has funny ingredients that I can’t find here of have never heard before. But it’s good. I find that my food knowledge is constantly widening up with the more cooking shows or books I’m watching or reading. For instance, I wouldn’t have  know what comte was if I didn’t see this book.

Turns out that Comte (also called Gruyère de Comté) is a French cheese made from unpasteurized cow’s milk in the Franche-Comté region of eastern France. Since cheese here in Malaysia are sliced cheddar, shredded mozzarella and Parmesan dust, comte only comes in sliced pieces and costs a freaking bomb. So I didn’t get it. I used whatever I had leftover at the fridge. Don’t ask me how I have a ball of fresh mozzarella but I used it instead of buying an extra cheese I would only use a few slices.

Since I just came back from Korea, I should eat lesser as a result from too much binging. So I made this simple dish for dinner and wrapped it with a 6″ tortilla wrap. But well, how is cheese + bacon healthy. HAhaha FTW

There will be no recipes this time around as it’s said, wrap cheese with bacon, grill / fry / roast / bbq / broil and baste them with a mixture of honey and soy sauce. Eat when hot!

Yumses
