This is not an ice cream blog. SErious. Or at least I’m not making it to be. Hahaha. So wht’s new this week. Nothing. Except that this is an ice cream so easy to make, that it makes you stone a while, thinking, oh, really?
Ah! Another waffled Ice Cream Monday. with sloppy almost melting banana ice cream. I’ll tell u why
Because, its made with only 3 ingredients.
Banana, honey and peanut butter.
And it’s made in a food processor! in just 2 minutes? OF course excluding freezing time. I’ve seen quite a few of these “recipes” (although you don’t really need a recipe for this) over the web but just never got to making it because everytime I see bananas, they’re either not ripe yet, or by the time they’re ripe, they’re GONE! So just one day when the bananas were ripe enough, I took half a comb, peeled and chuck them in the freezer (for… say… 2 weeks? Hahahaha ) I mean, you can freeze bananas right. Not an issue.
So how do you do it?
Simple.
Peel ripe bananas, slice them and store in the freezer for a couple of hours. or in my case, a lot more days than hours. Chuck them in the food processor or blender, then whiiizzzz. First it looks like ew crappy mushy stuff. But it would come to a point where everything comes together.
Something like this. It’s creamed up but a little too thick. At this point you can either whizz it more, and eat it just like that, or add more yummy stuffs. Like….Peanut butter!
Chunky or smooth, up to you. After adding peanut butter, the consistency becomes smoother and creamier (Oh what would the world do without peanut butter). I used a bout 7 medium sized bananas, and 2 heaped tablespoons of peanut butter. But you do the math, its up to you.
And, after peanut butter. You can defintely stop there and lick the spoon clean. I then wanted to add some honey to it and make it even more yum! Though you wouldn’t need much, just a teaspoon or two is more than enough.
In the end, it became this, what seems like diluted peanut butter. Haha if there is such thing. Upon tasting, it’s very very creamy and no trace of ice crystals. How awesome!
I made waffles after that to go with this banana ice cream. Yeasted waffles to be exact. Will post up recipes of waffle tomorrow or day after, u know me. Haha.
And it’d make a good smoothie with strawberries and milk 😉
