Starting the year with some travel bugs.
Generally I like the food in Hong Kong, (and shopping too) but I just cant keep up with the crowd!! It’s immensely crowded especially during the weekends. Luckily this time around, the weather was just fine (15-21) to keep the sweats away.
Also, it’s the 2nd trip to Hong Kong in the span of 6 months. Have probably ate countless “lou ding”, double boiled milk and milk teas. So what comes now? I probably would not step foot in HK for the next 6 months that’s for sure.
A summary for this trip; we did both theme parks, Ocean Park and Disneyland, went to Ngong Ping again, and more shopping 😡 I went with my family this time around (with kids!) and it’s not quite easy to handle when the age range is from 6 to 50+ … !! I know…
Anyway, this time, I rented a device, called handy Hong Kong. It’s a smartphone for rental with unlimited data and free calls to 17 countries (locally too of course) and I must say, It’s SO much easier to navigate with it as you can turn on the map to look for directions, call the restaurants to book for your meals (recommended for places like Yung Kee) and keep connected with your travel mates if travelling in a big group. only HKD 68 per day. You can rent it from the arrival hall in Terminal 1.
Some pics to follow, and individual posts combining the previous trip in July 2012.
I guess that kinda sums it all. And I haven’t been blogging much about recipes as I’ve been pretty busy with stuffs.. Haven’t done any CNY baking at all. I guess I just don’t have the enthusiasm to do so after work and all those other stuffs happening around..
But lots of blogs out there with yummy recipes to try..
These are the previous CNY treats I’ve done the past years..
Lol I guess that’s about it
Have an auspicious Chinese New Year and may all be blessed with good health!
