Last last weekend, we went to Craft Brews to celebrate one of our friend’s birthday. And with no surprise, the Black Forest Cake was for the birthday boy.
We’ve read about reviews on Craft Brew’s range of beers and boy oh boy we were pretty excited! Haha beer with spirulina? Come’on we gotta try it ;P
The interior of Craft Brews seemed rather cozy and the ambiance seems pretty alright for friends to catch up with a couple of beer and deep fried eggplant. We were there about 7 ish and there weren’t too much crowd but when we left, about 11, the entire place was packed from inside out! We’re all there for beer huh ?
Top Left English Ale; this darker hue beer is stronger and not for those who don’t really fancy beer.
Bottom Left : Monster Green Lager; at first glance it reminded me of a chlorophyll drink I used to drink when I was really really young. But it’s a beer brewed and lagered with spirulina. It’s quite mild so don’t worry that you’re not drinking beer.
Bottom Right: Weizen (Wheat Beer); a light bodied beer suitable for those who wants a kick of beer but not overly strong. It’s my fav..
We ordered the combination platter and it came with Soy Chilli Pork Belly (think chinese food), deep fried eggplant chips, which is oh so good, and pork kebab. It must have been a pork’d day haha we were just craving for pork. Can’t let the chinese in us go LOL.
We ordered both Honey Mustard and Tex-Mex Pork Ribs. This was Honey Mustard and we preferred this too. But no ribs can beat Bondi Beach’s Hurricane Grills <3 <3. These ribs were quite tender and the marinate was just right, sweet and smoky. The corn cob was fantastic. We had some love-hate relationships with the wedges, half of the table liked it but half didn’t. I didn’t really liked it as it was too mushy inside..
Next was the Pork Burger with bacon strips, egg, cheese and pineapple. Feedback was that it wasn’t good. I guess the meat patty wasn’t juicy enough and it was slightly bland. If you see on the pic, the cheese should melt from the heat of the patty but it didn’t which was a turn down because melting cheese in burgers are suppose fantabulously-melting!
Craft Brew’s Pasta came with deep fried bacon and very creamy and peppery sauce. It was creamed just alright; not too much nor stingy. Actually sometimes I prefer cream based pasta to not have so much cream cause the longer you take to eat, the more ‘jelak’ (goooeeeyyy and eeewww) it becomes. It would be great if they reduced the pepper a TINY whee bit.
This is the combo platter, the ultimate platter. The hand is to show the size of the platter. lol. It’s great to share with among 4 person. The serving came with 2 choices of ribs and 2 cajun spiced chicken, with wedges and huge bowl of salad.
Huge.. 0_0 .. But hey veges are good so the more the better 😉
See the black forest ?? Hehe ..
