Zespri 14-day challenge : Day 10

Wow, it’s the 10th Day of this Challenge already!! How has time flew past so quickly! So today’s challenge is to share the health benefits of incorporating the kiwifruit to my diet thus far.

Zespri Kiwifruit

Two very visible changes thus far:

1. I don’t feel so bloated

2. Healthier bowel movements

Earlier I’ve mentioned that kiwifruits has dietary fibre which are good for digestive health. Dietary fibre is important for keeping the digestive system healthy. It has also been shown to assist in managing diabetes, blood cholesterol levels and weight control. Zespri® Kiwifruit is a good source of both soluble and insoluble fibre. Regular consumption of Zespri® Kiwifruit contributes to good digestive health by:

  • Reducing the bloated feeling
  • Improving bowel habits
  • Positively altering intestinal enzymes, which may help in building one’s natural resistance to illness, growth of beneficial bacteria and inhibition of harmful bacteria

Zespri® Kiwifruit delivers an amazingly healthy dose of 20 essential nutrients to directly benefit the body and maintain body function. The high nutrient density of Zespri® Kiwifruit is driven primarily by the Vitamin C content, with other key nutrients (fibre, folate, potassium and Vitamin E) supporting its score.

It also contains a wide variety of phytonutrients, carotenoids and enzymes with known digestive benefits. The combination of all these unique attributes works within the body to provide significant health benefits.

Nutrient density is the measure of the nutritional value of foods. It is a ratio that considers key nutrients as functions of the energy value of the food (nutrients per calorie).
