Hi guys !
Well, as you can see from the title of this post, it has NOTHING to do with food; at all.
See, I’ve always wanted to do beauty / craft / nails / diy / hair posts but I didn’t want to mix it up with this blog, but having said that, having ANOTHER blog makes it so much harder to maintain. After much thought, I decided to pump it into this blog and make this space more lifestyle, rather than just food or cakes. Heck, we all can still look good while cooking or baking. 😉 Plus I think all these beauty stuffs was born in me as my mom used to be a beautician with her own facial and make up salon long before she sold it and went to help my dad in his company.
So there’s gonna be a page ^, apart from food, recipes, cake photos, travel, dogs, there’s gonna be a new section called Beauty & Craft where I’m going to feature some beauty products which I LIKE, hair style tutorials, nails design (GAWD I LOVE ‘ EM), DIY crafts (like paper stuffs), DIY beauty products and beauty boxes. Seems like alot but don’t worry, only once a week. The rest of the time, I would still be posting up food food and more food! Please pardon my absence lately.
I HAVE been playing lots of hairstyles, especially when there were so many wedding dinners to attend over the past couple of months, plus it was CNY, hence, more styles to experiment with. So far it’s been with braids, braids, knots, waterfall braids and more braids. I’m totally addicted to braids. Thank finally my hair is long.
This was one of the hair up do that impressed ALOT of people. Firstly it’s not braid, and i does look like as if I’ve had 4 hands to handle the hair. But really, it’s SO EASY! I’ll tell u how in a bit..
I had to attend a convention, very large scale and on one of the days, they had a traditional costume night. Trust me, I’m not the one overdressed. I wanted to go Jap, so I went around looking for kimonos for rental. Then I found this page in FB that rents yukata for Bon Odori and I checked that out. Yukatas are more summery type of kimono and they are easier to wear. Then I saw this BEAUTIFUL furisode, LOVE at first sight. I had to get it.
I mean, rent it.
Of course, I had no idea how to wear it myself so someone came to wear it for me. And you know what? Walking and sitting with a furisode is ……. hard … Lol…because it’s endless layers and there’s a board at your chest / tummy to keep the obi belt thingy straight, it’s impossible for your to slouch.
And when I found the furisode, I thought, OKAY I need a hair updo. So after some googling, I saw this video on youtube by bubzbeauty. (click for link– she has alot of other hair tutorials as well)
Basically, it’s just tying knots on your hair !!
Sooooo that’s that. Secrets out for the hairdo. It’s really simple, anyone can try it. Not recommended for very layered hair though…
Ok. That’s all I wanna share today 🙂
